Roles and clients

Who can do what

Each client is added to the agency and connected to its Google Ads account, including accounts under a manager account (MCC).

  • Owner

Manages the agency, decides on join requests and renews the invite code.
  • Admin

Requests and confirms enabling changes for each client and decides on join requests.
  • Manager

    Works with the agency's clients.
  • Analyst

Views clients and uses the chat, but does not propose changes.

Helferlain lists the accounts the Google connection can access, including client accounts under an MCC. Members join with an invite code and a join request.

Four-eyes principle

Enable changes for each client

By default, changes are locked for every client. Accounts marked as protected cannot be enabled.

  1. Request

An admin requests that changes be enabled for the client.

  2. Confirm

A second person with admin rights confirms.

  3. Apply

Only then can proposed changes for this client be applied. Whoever proposes a change does not approve it.

Record

Review first, then decide

Even without changes enabled, you can have a client analysed. That is the safe way in: look at the findings, then decide whether Helferlain may also make changes.

The change history matches Google's change history against Helferlain's log. That lets you show your client which change ran through Helferlain and which did not.

A daily audit for each client is planned and is part of building out agency mode.

Current status

What agency mode is not yet

  • The web app has no agency interface of its own. Agency mode is operated through the separate agency console.
  • No self-service: we grant access to the console on request.
  • There is currently no control to start the daily audit manually.
  • Google Ads only, no Meta, LinkedIn or TikTok accounts of your clients.
  • No undo button. The undo plan is shown in the review panel before every change.

Questions

Questions from agencies

Can my team members approve their own changes?
No. Whoever proposes a change may not approve it. In addition, changes must be enabled for each client by two admins before anything is applied at all.
Does this work with our manager account?
Yes. Helferlain lists the accounts the Google connection can access, including client accounts under an MCC. If access fails, the account is usually not linked under the MCC.
Which limits apply to changes in client accounts?
The same as everywhere: new campaigns only paused, bids capped at €10, daily budget capped, final URLs only on the website from the account profile, all or nothing.
